Civilization needs Art
At The Netherlands Art need to be more and more a product that has taken off by sale. Today the Politic thinks in Market terms. I, Bikkel, don’t recognize myself in this. I think the issue is: what is Art and what is the power and the ability of Art?
Rozalie Hirs (poet and composer) “Art can give an experience that can change your live. Art make you thinking about identity and how people live together. A society needs Contemporary Art to drive on the society without making money.”
Bikkel agree this. For her Committed Artwork mostly there is a small public at the exhibitions. But the reactions of this public often are impressive. For this people Bikkel makes her Oil paintings and Glass Sculptures.
