Current situation and plans
Currently, there are plans to City of Rotterdam, to adapt the streets and to build district heating on the Weena South. At this moment there is a street with shops, a winding street of about 100 balls that comes half out of the ground.
Proposal prior to the renovation
To cheer up the street and to attract shoppers, we have the following proposal. A proposal that is a precursor of an international art project of Bikkel and Tymon Ferenc de Laat.
Our idea is to provide the existing balls with different pastel colors. This will significantly brighten the streets and shoppers invite this route.
The City of Rotterdam give green light to Bikkel & Tymon to start with their project. At this moment Bikkel & Tymon will spray paint al the halve balls in the street. This takes about one week working.
The entrepeneurs in the street have donate EUR 400,- to Bikkel and Tymon to realize their project. Residents put their signature to realize this project of “WEENA ZUID GOT BALLS”
